Agentic AI in Finance: Opportunities and Challenges for Indonesia

Agentic AI presents significant opportunities and challenges for Indonesia's highly regulated finance sector. Adopting this technology requires looking beyond traditional ROI to consider metrics like Return on Value (ROV) and the Cost of Inaction (COI). Practical applications include autonomous multi-agent systems for financial reporting, AI-powered platforms for government auditing processes, and workflow automation for legal document management. However, implementation is constrained by strict data sovereignty regulations, security concerns requiring on-premise infrastructure, and the essential need for human-in-the-loop oversight for all final decisions.
