AI Food Police
https://towardsdatascience.com/ai-food-police/(towardsdatascience.com)An application called "AI Food Police" was developed to track meals by analyzing photos of food. It uses the Apple Foundation Model, a local large language model built into macOS, to identify ingredients, cooking methods, and the name of the dish. The system architecture consists of a Streamlit frontend for user interaction and a FastAPI backend that processes the image by calling the local model via a terminal command. The extracted nutritional data, returned as a JSON object, is then synchronized with a Google Sheet for storage and weekly analytics. This project demonstrates how to build a multimodal AI application using local models for tasks like dietary tracking.
