This perspective overlooks the immense value of simple, mundane improvements that quietly reduce friction in daily life, much like putting wheels on a suitcase. For most people, AI's current impact is marginal and does not fundamentally upgrade their lives in the way hype suggests. The argument is made for developers to also focus on creating reliable, unsexy, but useful AI tools that solve everyday problems, and for the public to remain skeptical of revolutionary claims.
