Async Agents: Signal Over Noise

https://zed.dev/blog/up-your-async-game-jessie-frazelle(zed.dev)
Engineer Jessie Frazelle evaluated various asynchronous AI agents for their effectiveness in real production code environments. Most agents, like Copilot and Sourcery, were found to add more noise than signal, providing low-value comments and hallucinated summaries. An exception was Graphite Diamond, which stood out by only providing comments when it found legitimate bugs, such as subtle logic errors or variable mismatches across Rust, C++, and Python codebases. While trust in these tools must be earned and verified, the right kind of AI agent can serve as a valuable second pair of eyes to improve code quality without replacing human review.
