BI Is Dead, Long Live BI

Traditional Business Intelligence (BI) is becoming obsolete because its dashboard-focused model only answers questions that have already been asked. The true bottleneck in data analysis has always been knowing which questions are worth asking, a problem that faster querying and better dashboards cannot solve. While current AI agents are improving the speed of answering questions, the next major shift will be toward a 'business intent layer.' This new model involves defining core business goals and allowing an autonomous agent to monitor all relevant data sources to proactively surface critical insights and correlations that humans would not have known to look for. This approach moves analysis from a reactive, human-prompted process to a proactive system that autonomously identifies what matters to the business.
