Code Mode: the better way to use MCP

A new approach called "Code Mode" suggests a more effective way for AI agents to use the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Instead of having a Large Language Model (LLM) use its built-in "tool calling" feature, this method converts MCP tools into a TypeScript API. The LLM is then prompted to write code that calls this API to accomplish tasks. This technique leverages the extensive code-writing capabilities of LLMs, which are often superior to their ability to use proprietary tool-calling formats. The result is improved performance, especially when chaining multiple tool calls, and is being implemented in the Cloudflare Agents SDK.
