Foundations of Agency for the Agentic Era

The next generation of AI is shifting from passive tools to active agents that can autonomously plan, act, observe, and improve. This new paradigm requires two key disciplines: Agent Execution, which involves engineering resilient agents and orchestrating them in collaborative systems, and Agent Operations (AgentOps) for safe and effective governance at scale. Agent execution focuses on creating persistent, signal-driven agents, while AgentOps establishes security, accountability, and efficiency for entire fleets of agents. Ultimately, the goal is to move beyond generalist chatbots to specialized, proactive agents deeply integrated into enterprise systems to create new forms of value.
