Mistral AI has launched Devstral 2, a new family of state-of-the-art, open-source coding models designed for complex software engineering tasks. The family includes the powerful 123B-parameter Devstral 2 and the more compact 24B Devstral Small 2, which is capable of running on consumer hardware. Alongside these models, the company introduced Mistral Vibe, an open-source command-line assistant that automates coding workflows directly in the terminal. This new tool allows developers to use natural language to explore codebases, modify multiple files, and execute commands, significantly streamlining the development process.
