The change was driven by a need for a more collaborative partner and to overcome creative restrictions from OpenAI's policies that hindered the game's fantasy elements. AI21 Labs worked with Latitude to find a more cost-effective solution, transitioning them from the large Jurassic-1 Jumbo model to the smaller Grande model. This optimization struck a better balance of performance, cost, and speed, allowing Latitude to scale production while improving the player experience.
