Introducing Falcon ASR

Technology Innovation Institute (TII) has introduced Falcon-ASR, a 1.6 billion parameter automatic speech recognition model. The model specializes in transcribing Arabic, with a particular focus on the Emirati dialect, but also supports English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese within the same model weights. Falcon-ASR achieved a new state-of-the-art result on the Open Universal Arabic ASR Leaderboard with an average word error rate of 20.92%. Built on the Falcon3-Audio architecture, the model also shows strong performance on English benchmarks and provides word-level timestamps for transcriptions.
