LangChain has raised $125M to build a platform for "agent engineering," defined as the process of refining non-deterministic LLM systems into reliable experiences. The company is releasing major 1.0 versions of its open-source frameworks, LangChain and LangGraph, to help developers build and control custom agents. Its commercial platform, LangSmith, is being expanded to cover the complete agent engineering lifecycle, including observability, evaluation, and deployment. Additionally, new capabilities are being introduced, such as an Insights Agent for automatic behavior analysis and a no-code Agent Builder to simplify creation.
