Mistral has released the weights for Mistral Large 4 (Le Chonk), a 1-trillion-parameter, natively multimodal model with improved performance. The model now leads open-weight benchmarks in coding and defensive cybersecurity, showing strong results on metrics like FrontierCode and the Artificial Analysis Cyber Index. It also introduces three reasoning modes (Low, Medium, High) to allow developers to balance performance and inference cost. As a fully open-weight model trained in Europe, it is positioned as a trusted foundation for sovereign AI, enabling organizations to own, customize, and control their AI deployments.
