Not Another Workflow Builder

A distinction is made between AI workflows, which offer predictability, and agents, which provide autonomy. Visual workflow builders are critiqued for not being truly low-barrier for non-technical users and for becoming unmanageable as task complexity increases. It is argued that these builders are being squeezed by two better alternatives: simple no-code agent creation for low-complexity tasks and code-based solutions like LangGraph for high-complexity problems. The future of development should focus on improving no-code agent creation and enhancing code generation for building complex AI systems, rather than creating more visual workflow tools.
