NVIDIA Nemotron 2 Nano 9B Japanese: 日本のソブリンAIを支える最先端小規模言語モデル

NVIDIA has released Nemotron-Nano-9B-v2-Japanese, a state-of-the-art small language model (SLM) designed to support sovereign AI development in Japan. The model is built upon the Nemotron-Nano-9B-v2 architecture and utilizes a high-quality synthetic dataset generated from the Nemotron-Personas-Japan seed set for culturally relevant training. Its training pipeline involved continued pre-training on Japanese corpora and supervised fine-tuning (SFT) for tool-calling capabilities, resulting in top performance for models under 10 billion parameters on the Nejumi Leaderboard 4. This SLM offers a balance of advanced Japanese language understanding, strong agentic abilities, and efficient on-premise deployment, addressing a critical gap for enterprise AI in Japan.
