Picking an Experimentation Platform: A Retrospective

A company's journey to select an experimentation platform began with internal interviews to define pain points and establish clear requirements. The selection process was phased, starting with desk research and vendor demos before culminating in a detailed Proof of Concept (POC) between two finalists, Eppo and Statsig. Although both platforms scored almost identically on technical and analytical capabilities, the final decision hinged on a crucial tie-breaker. Eppo was ultimately chosen because its user experience was more accessible to non-technical users like product managers, which better supported the company's goal of democratizing experimentation.
