Runway and Lionsgate Expand Partnership

Generative AI research company Runway and content leader Lionsgate are expanding their strategic partnership. As part of the new agreement, Lionsgate has taken an equity interest in Runway, and the two companies will launch a joint development program to create new intellectual property. This collaboration will begin with a short-form episodic series using Lionsgate's existing IP and Runway's generative models. Both companies emphasize using AI as a creative resource to enhance storytelling capabilities for filmmakers, rather than simply as a cost-cutting measure.
