Why I joined Subconscious

Building an AI agent from first principles reveals significant challenges, particularly around high costs and complex context management. The author built an agent for a hackathon and discovered that even simple conversational interactions were prohibitively expensive to scale, a common problem developers face. This experience led to joining Subconscious, a company that aims to solve this by providing "Agent Engines" that abstract away the complexities of context engineering. These engines are designed to manage context automatically, maximizing reliability and token efficiency so developers can focus on building agent logic rather than low-level infrastructure.
