Why we tore down our no-code site and went back to code

A development team rebuilt their high-traffic marketing website, moving from a no-code platform back to a traditional code-based system. This decision was driven by the need to enable AI agents to work on the site, as the previous visual editor was inaccessible to them. The new site was built using principles that make it easier for agents to understand and modify, such as having clear documentation, a modular structure with Next.js, and direct source code access. This creates a new workflow where humans define intent and review outcomes, while AI agents handle the mechanical implementation and maintenance tasks. The shift represents a move towards building orchestrated systems where agents can perform work autonomously under human oversight.
